Park Farm Country Cottages are perfectly located for those who value the peace and tranquility of the countryside and yet wish to explore the many attractions that Bristol, Bath, Wells and the surrounding area have to offer.
Within 30 minute walk of the cottages is the ancient stone circle and toll house at Stanton Drew and Maes Knoll Tump an iron age hill-fort from which there are panoramic views of Bristol, The Severn Bridge/Estuary as well as the Chew Valley with it's lakes! Maes Knoll Tump is part of the 3 Peaks Circular Walk, (Forest of Avon) the Community Forest Path also passes through the farm, as well as the National Cycle Route 3.
The village of Chew Magna (5 min drive, 25 min walk) is our very attractive local centre, and has an interesting history. It was once a thriving woollen centre, it has raised pavements and many listed buildings, from pretty cottages to large Georgian houses and medieval buildings.
Chew Magna has 3 pubs all serving good food, a good village food store, a traditional butcher, a bank, a post office/gift shop and a cafe/gift shop, and is an excellent place to wander and explore.
Chew Valley Lake (2.5 miles) along with it's sister lakes are very popular with anglers and birdwatchers, with over 260 types of birds have been recorded there, the restaurant and picnic facilities at Chew Valley and Blagdon Lakes provide a lovely setting for refreshment perhaps followed by a walk along a waterside trail.

The Bear and SwanPublic House

A traditional 18th century pub
The Bear and Swan offers a country retreat just minutes from Bristol on the way to Bristol Airport. Our restaurant is well known to walkers and escapees from the city and features an ever changing specials board and a la carte menus. There's a great range of ciders, lagers and beers and a carefully chosen wine list. We recently acquired this pub from Fullers and our experienced manager, Morley has made the move from The Old House at Home to bring the OHH touch to an already thriving pub.
